Xolo A1000 to Release with Dual Core CPU, JellyBean, 5 inch Display

A new ‘Xolo’ series smartphone is coming soon. It’s not Intel this time. It’s Xolo ‘A’ series which means Lava is the manufacturer of the device Xolo A1000. It packs some cool hardware components. In some recently leaked images published by Fonearea  you can see that the handset is running Android 4.1 JellyBean. It shows off a 5 inch display. With this new weapon Lava would love to challenge other 5 inch smartphones. You would have expected a quad core processor but this is not the same case here. Powered by dual core processor the droid might pack 1 GB RAM. It looks like there is a dedicated camera button. You can see in image just below the volume rockers there is a hardware button. I guess it’s the camera button as the power button is placed in the opposite panel.

Xolo A1000 Releasing Soon with Android 4.1.1 JellyBean:

Xolo A1000

Xolo A1000 1

Xolo A1000 2

Xolo A1000 is the first smartphone in Xolo series with 5 inch display. Previously, Xolo A500A700A800 (X500 and X900 are Intel Series) were launched with less than 5 inch display. But excessive requirement in Indian market have convinced them to bring yet another handset in this lineup after the Lava Iris 501 phablet. Micromax Canvas 2 is also an alternative.

Xolo A1000 is a stylish and sleek smartphone with just 8.8 mm profile. Micromax A116 Canvas HD is coming soon with similar specs but with a quad core processor. Couple of other Chinese companies are also coming in market like Umi Mobiles, JiaYU Mobiles, Mogu Phones etc.

The most interesting thing is going to be the price of Xolo A1000Micromax Canvas HD is yet to be priced. But looks like it could be retailed for as low as Rs 12500. Karbonn S1 Titanium already announced at Rs 11000. Umi X2, a quad core full HD smartphone could be sold out for as low as Rs 12000. JiaYu G4 with quad core processor, 13 MP camera could be made available at around Rs 9000. Now with dual core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 MP camera Lava must not think of selling it at Rs 13000.  The best price could be around Rs 10000. Otherwise, the best alternative is also from Lava that is Iris 501. Buying Lava Iris instead of Xolo A1000 could save some thousands. Price is not confirmed, so let’s wait for the official announcement.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.
