Gionee Dream D1 Flaunts Super AMOLED Display at Rs 10000 in India

Gionee Dream D1

After ZopoUmiJiaYuMoguIocean (in the same order) we have a new Chinese manufacturer Gionee that will start selling its wide range of smartphones in Indian market. Initially the company is preparing Gionee Dream D1 that will sport 4.65 inch Super AMOLED Plus display. I guess it’s Super AMOLED (Pentile Matrix display) that is used in Samsung Galaxy S3 but super AMOLED Plus uses RGB Matrix and was used in Samsung Galaxy S2 display. I will confirm the news once it’s officially claimed.

Gionee Dream D1 uses the latest MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 1 GB RAM for multitasking experience. In all recent budget quad core smartphones we have seen this MTK6589 chip. It’s really a good one especially when it’s accompanied by 1 GB RAM. According to theMobileIndian Cortex A7 cores are clocked at 1.3 GHz but I don’t think it’s possible to over-clock Cortex A7 beyond 1.2 GHz. ROM size is 4 GB that will leave approx 2 GB free for user. For additional storage requirement there is micro SD card slot.
Unlike other budget China smartphone there is no 13 MP camera unit. You have to be satisfied with 8 MP camera unit. You also get a 8 MP camera unit in Micromax Canvas HD. Unlike Umi X2 or Iocean X7 the display of Gionee Dream D1 is not full HD either. It’s HD 720p display. Out of the box Android 4.1 JellyBean is pretty certain.
Expected price of Gionee Dream D1 is Rs 10000-12000. In this price segment all smartphones flaunt IPS LCD or TFT LCD. Therefore, it’s the major strength of Gionee Dream D1. Hopefully, soon we will hear more from the company.

Specs of Gionee Dream D1 :

  • OS: Android 4.1 JellyBean
  • SoC: MediaTek MT6589
  • Display: 4.65 inch Super AMOLED
  • RAM: 1 GB
  • ROM: 4 GB, micro SD card slot
  • Camera: 8 MP, HD 720p video recording
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB port
  • Data: HSPA+ speed up to 42 Mbps
As I have mentioned earlier full specs are unknown. You have to wait for future update.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.
