HP Slate 7, First Tablet from HP at $169 Running Dual Core CPU




HP, the well known PC and peripheral manufacturer is now entering in to tablet business with a 7 inch Android tablet called as HP Slate 7. HP stated manufacturing touch screen hybrid devices but it hasn’t yield any satisfactory result for the US manufacturer so far. That’s the main reason they are now entering touch screen market with more compact and affordable tablets. Currently Slate 7 is coming in market that is priced aggressively to $169 USD. Built on Android 4.1 JellyBean HP Slate 7 is powered by dual core 1.6 GHz Cortex A9 processor, 1 GB RAM.
HP Slate 7 sports 7 inch FFS touch screen display with WSVGA 1024×600 pixels resolution with 16m color support. This is standard display resolution for all low-cost tablets. Yes, HP Slate 7 is a low-cost tablet priced around $169 which means you can expect the tab at around Rs 9000 in Indian market. Let’s hope retail price is going to be lesser than that. The slate comes with Beats Audio amplified sound system and stereo speakers for better entertainment. At this price segment it’s really an impressive tablet. You may check out Asus Memo Pad 7.
Dual camera are there in HP Slate 7. Rear facing camera is a 3.2 MP one while there is a front facing VGA webcam. In connectivity segment along with standard Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and micro USB there is DLNA support. You can wirelessly connect the tab with your HP printer using the ePrint app to get print out done without any hassle at all.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.

Sony Xperia Z Launch in India on 6th March

The Sony flagship smartphone is on the way to India. With a teaser on it’s official Facebook Page, Sony Mobile has confirmed that Xperia Z will be launch on March 6th in Indian markets. There is not much information regarding the price of this smartphone, but rumours suggest that the price will be something similar to recently announced HTC Butterfly, which costs Rs. 45,500.
