The Karbonn A12 is now on available online for Rs. 7699 and the Android phone, is Karbonn’s latest budget smartphone with high end specs. The device is well equipped with standard smartphone specs.
Built on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform Karbonn Smart A12 flaunts 4.5 inch qHD display. In rear panel there is a 5 MP auto focus camera with LED flash. Front facing camera is there too. The droid comes with 4 GB ROM and micro SD card slot expandable up to 32 GB. You will get approx 2 GB free for user.
In connectivity segment Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and micro USB are there. It has a support of HSDPA speed up to 7.2 Mbps. In 2.5G network it supports EDGE like other handsets. GPS navigation using Google maps is not at all a surprising feature any more. Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery powers the smartphone.
Honestly, the handset is not impressive from any angle. First of all, it lacks multi-core processor. Secondly, 512 MB RAM may not be ideal for with single core processor to experience faster multitasking experience. Display is wide and supports higher resolution. Rear facing 5 MP auto focus camera is other feature to look at. Battery size is also decent if not impressive. Rest of the specs are common in all handsets at this price segment.
The best alternative of Karbonn Smart A12 is Alcatel OT 5020E. It comes with dual core processor, SRS Surround Sound, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 4.0. It’s better and also cheaper by few hundreds. Advantages of Karbonn Smart A12 over Alcatel OT 5020E are bigger display, higher resolution and auto focus camera. Bigger battery is not applicable here as display size is bigger in A12. Spice Stellar Nhance can also be considered as an alternative because of the 8 MP fixed camera and lesser price tag. Micromax A89 Ninja comes at an amazingly low price tag. Dual core processor can be an advantage of Ninja but in camera segment Karbonn A12 Smart is better.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.

Sony Xperia Z Launch in India on 6th March
