At this CES Canonical showed off it’s Ubuntu Operating System for Smartphones and now the company has finally announced that developer preview of Ubuntu for Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 smartphone is going to launch on February 21. This preview will enable users to check Ubuntu Operating System on their Smartphone and by which they would be able to create application for the same.
Canonical will also provide the tool to make the flashing task easier along-with dev. preview. If you want then you can check the developer preview images as well as flashing tool here, starting from February 21st. In a press release Canonical noted that:
The release also marks the start of a new era for Ubuntu, with true convergence between devices. When complete, the same Ubuntu code will deliver a mobile, tablet, desktop or TV experiences depending on the device it is installed on, or where it is docked. Ubuntu 13.10 (due in October) will include a complete entry-level smartphone experience.
