Intex Aqua Style is the newest phablet Intex is betting on. I am afraid to say, people will not show too much of interest in this one just because of low resolution. We already have seen identical specs in Karbonn A30. But in last few days we seen couple of smartphones with HD resolution viz. Micromax A116 Canvas HD and Xolo A1000. Both sport 5 inch display. In contrast to that Intex Aqua Style sports bigger 5.9 inch display but resolution is downgraded to WVGA. At least qHD would have been better if the phablet is launched in less than 10k price tag. Current price of Karbonn A30 is Rs 10990 but it’s not doing well. I hope Intex will be considering the fact and a final price tag of Rs 11k may get things go. But RAM is doubled in Aqua Style. Therefore, at around the same price tag one can can expect it to be best alternative.
Intex Aqua Style equips dual core processor and 1 GB RAM. Karbonn S1 Titanium is available at Rs 11000 with quad core processor, 1 GB RAM, 4.5 inch qHD display. Market will even heat up more when Umi X2 or JiaYu G4 will be launched at around same or lesser price tag. Anyway, there is a 8 MP rear facing camera, 1.3 MP front camera for video chat.Intex Aqua Style looks pretty good but the thickness of the handset is 11 mm which is slightly in thicker side. Canvas HD is so far the thickest handset launched in last few days with 10.7 mm but thickness of Intex Aqua Style is 0.3 inch more. Li-Ion 2500 mAH battery is used here that gives approx 3 hrs of talk time and 100 hrs of standby time.
Chipset used in Intex Aqua Style is unknown. But it looks like MediaTek MT6577. If it wasExynos 4210 or Krait based Snapdragon S4 Plus it would definitely have outranked the competitors. But I don’t think it will score high enough with MT6577, 1 GB RAM hardware in contrast to the quad core MTK6589 droids. Currently plenty of phablets are available in market. The competition is at the extreme level in 5 inch segment. But 5.9 inch or ~6 inch display segment it’s not that high. In contrast to Swipe MTV Volt this phablet looks more promising.

Disadvantages of Intex Aqua Style
- No HD Resolution: You must be looking for HD or at least qHD resolution when you are paying the amount. WVGA is not at all impressive.
- Weighty & Big: Intex Aqua Style is a huge smartphone with 5.9 inch display. It weights approx 229 gm which is too much. You always feel uncomfortable if you think of putting it in pocket. Separate sleeve will be better choice.
- No JellyBean
- Acceptability in contrast to quad core beasts
