Alcatel OT 4005D Priced Rs 4499 with JellyBean

Alcatel OT 4005D is just spotted in Flipkart along with a sibling Alcatel OT 4010E. In my previous post I have mentioned that OT 4010E as the cheapest JellyBean smartphone but now it looks like Alcatel OT 4005D is the cheapest smartphone built on Android 4.1 JellyBean. Quite surprisingly the specs of the cheaper one is better by a mile. I doubt how Alcatel OT 4010E will perform in real time with just 256 MB RAM. But Alcatel OT 4005D equips 512 MB RAM and 1 GHz processor.
Most of the specs are identical in these two low-cost JellyBean smartphones. Alcatel OT 4005D sports 3.5 inch HVGA display, 3.2 MP camera, 1400 mAH battery, 1.4 GB ROM, micro SD card slot etc. In contrast to Alcatel OT 4010E this one has double RAM, better camera, bigger battery. Price is also cheaper by Rs 500. I guess it’s a mistake made by Flipkart during this update.
It’s a big deal till date. Most of the smartphones available in less than 5k price tag all run outdated hardware. But Alcatel OT 4005D comes with some cool functionality like Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth v4.0. Ambient light sensor is there along with G-sensor and proximity sensor. A-GPS navigation using Google Maps is also supported by this handset.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.
