Umi X1 Price in India, Features & Specs

Umi X1

Umi X1 price in India:
Rs 9999. This is yet another smartphone from Umi Mobiles, releasing soon in Indian market. It’s not as brilliant as Umi X2 but overall specs of the handset can impress you. Although it runs the MediaTek MT6577 platform RAM is increased to 1 GB which ensures faster and better multitasking. Micromax A110 or Karbonn A30 packs the same chip but RAM is just 512 MB in both handsets. Umi X1 is also not a phablet; it sports 4.5 inch display. But display resolution is HD 720×1280 pixels. In recent times Micromax A116 Canvas HD is only announced with HD resolution. Rest of the low-cost handsets are dealing with WVGA or qHD.  AGC Sodaline scratch resistant coating is there. The same scratch proof coating is already spotted in Micromax A110 Canvas 2 but it does not look as useful as Gorilla Glass. However, it’s better to have something rather than nothing. Umi X2 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating which is pretty impressive. However, display supports 16m colors which means color rendering will be vivid and bright. Oh yes, ROM size is 4 GB and micro SD card slot is there.

Umi X1 sports 8 MP CMOS camera in rear with dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording. In front panel just above the display panel there is a 2 MP camera for video chat. It supports HSDPA speed but actual speed is undefinited. Possibly, it supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB are there. No TV out port is there. Dual band Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct features are also missing. For location tracking Umi X1 supports A-GPS using Google Maps. It boasts 1700 mAh battery which would have been better with a 2000 mAh one. I am not convinced about the battery backup for Umi X1.

Price of Umi X1 is Rs 9999. It’s the best handset is less than Rs 10000. Out of the box ICS may not sound too good especially if you are looking forward to try your hands in this new version of Android and Google Now. Only Byond B63 is available with Android 4.1 JellyBean, dual core processor, 8 MP camera in less than 10k but RAM is 512 MB. Therefore, it’s easy to say Umi X1 is best as per as specs are concerned.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.
