Lava Iris 502 is spotted in Saholic at Rs 8499. It’s just refurbished Lava Iris 501 with out of the box Android 4.1 JellyBean. Yes, Lava gave it some facelift. It looks really impressive. Three soft touch sensitive buttons are there in the new handset. But ‘back’ button goes to right which is bit awkward especially if you are habituated with ‘back’ button in the left. Hardware remains the same. MediaTek MT6577 is the heard of this smartphone where two ARM Cortex A9 cores are clocked at 1 GHz. RAM is 512 MB as you would have expected. Out of 4 GB ROM user gets 2 GB free. Micro SD card slot is there that can house up to 32 GB of storage.
Lava Iris 502 sports 5 inch TFT LCD display with WVGA 480×800 pixels resolution. At this price segment resolution is good. But qHD would have been better.
In camera segment I think Lava should have brought some changes. Unfortunately, it’s the same camera unit that was found in the earlier version Iris 501. Rear facing 5 MP camera is there in Lava Iris 502 that records 720p HD video while in front there is a VGA web-camera. Auto focus, LED flash, face detection, panorama mode are there too.
Quite surprisingly Lava Iris 502 comes with 2000 mAH battery. The earlier version got 2300 mAH battery. Lava is claiming the battery can give 9 hrs of talk time in 2G network and 16 days of standby time. Rest of the specs are unchanged. Take a look at the key features-

Price of Lava Iris 502 is set to Rs 8499 which is bit impressive. I guess it will rule in this price gentlemen till real competitor reaches market. Micromax Canvas 2 stock is limited in most stores. Some dishonest sellers are selling Canvas 2 for more than Rs 12000. In this case you should consider Lava Iris 502. Android 4.1 JellyBean is also a bonus feature of this phablet. Camera does not make much difference as it can record 720p HD video.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.
