Micromax Canvas HD vs Umi X2 vs Karbonn S1 Quad Core Droid Fight

Micromax Canvas HD vs Umi X2 vs Karbonn S1

Micromax Canvas HD vs Umi X2 vs Karbonn S1: This is a comparison between three quad core smartphones releasing in Indian market anytime from now. Each of these handsets has its advantages and disadvantages. Umi is the new face but Micromax and Karbonn have already provided their worth in Indian market. After witnessing the success in Canvas 2 Micromax is betting big on Canvas HD. It’s the first HD display smartphone from Micromax. Karbonn S1 Titanium is the only smartphone in this lineup to run quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play processor. Micromax and Umi have showed confidence in MediaTek MT6589 chip. MTK6589 is using quad core ARM Cortex A5 that are yet to be proven in the real world. But it looks like it’s a good combination especially when battery usage is concerned.Umi X2 is the second smartphone to release in Indian market with full HD 1920×1080 pixels resolution support. Couple of days ago HTC Butterfly was announced with full HD resolution at Rs 46000. But Umi X2 is coming at one third of that price. Also 2 GB RAM is double to other two handsets. Now if Umi X2 is priced less than 15k it’s the big deal. It also boasts 13 MP camera.Micromax A116 Canvas HD sports 8 MP rear camera which is also very impressive.

Micromax Canvas HD vs Umi X2 vs Karbonn S1: Final Words

As you can see Umi X2 is the most impressive among the three. But the only question is after sales service. Umi is very new in Indian market, in fact this is their first venture in Indian market. Therefore, they may fail to provide enough technical support if any handset is found defective.

I am not aware of the service centers as of now. Any electronic gadget can have manufacturing defects. Now if the customers fail to get the support it eventually spoils the reputation of a company. Keeping that in mind I guess Umi Mobiles have already planned something out of the box to provide enough support to customers. India is one of the largest smartphone market in the world.

Now I don’t think Umi Mobiles will take that risk. In my opinion replacement warranty till 60 days or something like that would attract customers as they can replace the handset anytime between that time frame. This will also help them to trust the brand. Once the brand is popular, bingo!

The best alternative of Umi X2 would be Micromax A116 Canvas HD. Karbonn S1 Titanium seems to have outage in camera segment. I also think Qualcomm MSM8225Q Snapdragon S4 Play will eventually fail to compete MediaTek MT6589. Also the display of Karbonn S1 supports qHD resolution while Micromax Canvas HD sports HD resolution and Umi X2 full HD resolution. So the safest choice is Micromax A116 Canvas HD but the best choice is Umi X2.

Iocean X7 Spotted in the Wild

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. Do you need anything else in this budget? In China few lucky users are able to get their hands in to this lovely little piece of smartphone. Iocean is expected to ship review copies soon. But I haven’t received any official news from their end as of now.
