Huawei Ascend P2 Officially Unveiled in MWC

Huawei Ascend P2

Huawei Ascend P2, the next flagship smartphone from the giant Chinese smartphone manufacturer is now official. It gets some fire-power but disappointed many of us as there is no full HD display. We were expecting this to happen as all leaks were suggesting that it is going to have HD 720p display. However, it’s still a good choice. In-home K3V2 chip with 1.5 GHz quad core Cortex A9 ensures fair amount of performance enhancement especially when the RAM is 1 GB. Nowadays we see 2 GB RAM is a must for a flagship but Huawei is planning to tighten the budget. That may be the reason they have avoided full HD display and reduced RAM to 1 GB. Earlier in CES Huawei unveiled Ascend D2 with full HD display, 2 GB RAM and same K3V2 chip.

There is a 13 MP camera rear shooter that records full HD video at 30 fps. Dedicated hardware key for the camera is an added bonus. Normally, we don’t see this in modern smartphones but it’s good to have one. It comes only with 16 GB flavor. There is no micro SD card slot which is certainly disappointing. Considering that Huawei must have also thought for a 32 GB variant.
Built on Android 4.1 JellyBean Huawei Ascend P2 is using Emotion v1.6 screen on top of JellyBean UI. Possibly, it’s going to get upgrade to JellyBean v4.2. Some other features like Quick Power Control, ADRX have been used in this smartphone. According to Huawei all these technologies reduce power consumption and also reduce charging time by 25%. Being a 4.7 inch droid Huawei Ascend P2 gets a 2420 mAh Li-Po battery which is very impressive.

It’s good that Huawei Ascend P2 is officially showcased. But it’s not clear whether it’s coming to Indian market or not. No expected price for the Indian market. Keeping current competition in Indian soil Huawei must think of selling it out at competitive price.

Iocean X7  or OuSheng X7 is spotted in the wild. This time images are pretty sharp and you should get the feeling that it’s a premium smartphone that is expected to be shipped in Indian market at an amazingly low price tag. According to  Gizchina  the droid could be priced 999 Yuan or $160 USD which means in India you can expect the phablet for as low as Rs 9000. Iocean also mentioned the same in their official mailer last week. Release date is not mentioned, but you can expect it by March. As I already mentioned in my previous post it sports 5 inch Full HD display at 441 ppi, 13 MP camera, quad core MediaTek MT6589 SoC, 2 GB RAM and of course Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box.
